History of NIOS

Straggler and MikeThe Northern Illinois Operation Snowball (N.I.O.S.) Chapter became the first accredited chapter of Operation Snowball, Inc. in 1979. Members of N.I.O.S. facilitate a series of youth leadership training camps for Operation Snowball teams in the Northern Illinois area. The very fist N.I.O.S. event was a weekend camp for five high school students. These five students represented the initial snowflakes in what would become the growing blizzard that is N.I.O.S. today.
